Job Description

Our client, a global investment management firm is growing in Canada. We are recruiting a Manager, Client Service for their Toronto office.

Purpose: To support and contribute client service and relationship development activity in Canada. We are looking for an individual that is creative, curious, and interested in bringing new ideas and approaches to a small, dynamic and growing team within the Clients Department. The successful candidate will play an active team role in driving forward our Canadian business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain contact with clients, present at regular meetings, and deal with problems as they arise
  • Ensure high standards of information reporting to clients via written reports and client meetings
  • Maintain and expand investment knowledge
  • Market the Firm to potential clients through establishing effective relationships with consultants, client presentations and on-going contact
  • Monitor clients’ portfolios on a regular basis to ensure client objectives and Firm policy are being met
  • Broaden and deepen existing relationships through exceptional client service
  • Seek out and develop new business opportunities
  • Travel with colleagues and perform prospective client meetings in French when required
  • Act as resource to team when others are traveling
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of sales and marketing materials and strategic planning of marketing initiatives including events
  • Craft new business presentations and complete RFP’s/RFI’s contributing to the firm’s success

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree required
  • Ability to achieve Advising Representative status is required

Experience and knowledge

  • At least 5 years client-facing experience working in asset management with a focus on institutional relationship management in Canada

 

Abilities and skills:

  • Strong written and oral presentation skills in both English and French
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, work independently, and contribute to a small, growing team environment
  • Proven ability to be a team player who is flexible, reliable, proactive, and service-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to travel at certain points throughout the year including (but not limited to), Canada, US and UK
